On 05 July, 2014 what could of been a horrible ending for some airline travelers at Barcelona's El-Prat (BCN) airport was avoided.
In the video, we see an Aerolineas
Argentineas Airbus A340-300 (LV-FPV) crossing a runway on which an Utair Boeing
767-300 (VQ-BSX) incoming from Moscow was on final approach. The Russian pilots completed an impressive maneuver thus avoiding what could of been a horrible tragedy.
The video was shot by Miguel Angel. The Utair pilots immediately pulled up
and aborted the landing, performing a go-around to land on runway 02. Telephoto lenses have the tendency to compress a scene and sometimes make
things closer together than they really are, but in this video it
appears that these two planes were headed for disaster.
After the incidence, the Utair Boeing
767-300 landed safely on runway 02, and the Aerolineas
Argentineas Airbus A340-300 took-off heading Buenos Aires.
